Bob & Sandie's 2009 Cruise
on the Royal Caribbean
Independence of the Seas
Sandie and I took a wonderful cruise this January on Royal Caribbean's "Independence of the Seas". This ship is, at this time, the largest cruise ship in the world. For those of you who love statistics:
Gross Tonnage - 160,000
Length - 1,112 ft
Max Beam - 185 ft
Draft - 28 ft
Max Speed - 21.6 Knots
Guest Capacity - 3,634
This ship was one of the nicest ships I have ever seen, as you will see from some of the pictures I took. The food and service on board were first class.
Our itinerary took us to San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and Labadee, Haiti. While in Labadee, we went parasailing, which was a blast. We traveled with friends from Buffalo, Joe and Jill Barrile and also my Dad.
The first 5 pictures were of the Port of the Everglades, Ft. Lauderdale, where we departed from.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.
